About Us and Our Training Philosophy
Rick Prewit, President of Universal Picklers, LLC:
I've been coaching and mentoring athletes for 50 years. When I was new to the Chicago Pickleball scene, I was surprised at how difficult it was to find beginner instruction and resources. I set out to change that. Based on my years of coaching and experience, I developed a training program for beginners to learn the game and develop their skills quickly in a welcoming and supportive setting.

I am a CPI (Certified Pickleball Instructor) through the IPTPA and currently play at a 4.0 rated Skill Level.

NO CHARGE INSTRUCTION
Our mission is to promote Pickleball for All and we offer instruction wherever we play for no charge. If you care to make a donation, it will go towards our mission, but it is not required. Our main goal is to get you out and playing!
OUR LOCATIONS
We play at Ellis, Kennicott, Foster and Gwendolyn Brooks Parks in Chicago as well as the XS Tennis Village. We travel around the area, too, so check our Facebook page for upcoming events.

A BIT MORE ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Though we aim to make you the best Pickleball player you can be, we also strive to broaden your entire Pickleball education. Teaching Pickleball etiquette, good sportsmanship and keeping you informed of events and tournaments in the area are part of our training program. We encourage our clients to participate in tournaments at their level and join our group in playing on courts throughout the area.
